LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant had its final tuneup before Homecoming on Saturday as it took on in-state rival, Berry. The Scots scored the opening goal, however a red card for Covenant in the first half proved costly as Berry came roaring back to earn a 4-1 win.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
- At the 13-minute mark, Bostrom scored what turned out to be Covenant's lone goal, tapping in a rebound off a shot from Jonathan Welsh that crashed off the crossbar.Â
- Just over three minutes later, a long cross from Parker Pollay played in Alex Guzman who blasted a shot in the back of the net to tie the match for Berry.Â
- In the 22nd minute, Covenant went down to 10-men as Fox Landgren was assessed a red card for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity.Â
- Berry made it 2-1 shortly afterwards as a quick throw-in from Pollay found Guzman for his second goal.Â
- Henry Strawbridge, after just coming into the match, had a good headed effort for the Scots, but the Vikings' keeper was true to it.Â
- At the 40-minute mark, Berry scored a third goal as Daniel Osho smashed in a shot off a through ball on the right side by Timothy Ratokhin.Â
- At the intermission, Berry had outshot Covenant 12-6.
- Covenant took four shots in the first 30 minutes of the second half, but were unable to put any on target.Â
- The Vikings scored the final goal of the match in the 81st minute as Timothy Ratokhin found the end of a deflected shot from Tyler Whitaker.
- Covenant nearly had a consolation goal in the 88th minute as Welsh struck the woodwork with a shot from outside the box for the second time in the match.Â
GAME NOTES:Â
- Covenant moves to 17-32-6 all-time against Berry.Â
- Berry outshot Covenant 17-13 and had an 8-2 advantage in shots on goal.Â
- Both teams committed six fouls.Â
- Freshman J.T. Tolson made his collegiate debut in the second half as goalkeeper.Â
- After tonight, Bostrom has six goals on the season for the Scots and is tied for first place in the CCS for goals scored.Â
