DANVILLE, Ky. - The Scots traveled to the Bluegrass state to take on Centre in a stiff challenge for their season opener. Two first half goals for the Colonels proved to be the difference as the Scots fell 3-1.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Covenant keeper Bronwyn Kickasola recorded three saves in the first 19 minutes to keep the match tied.Â
- In the 23rd minute, Claire Cavacini scored for Centre to give it the lead on a rebound opportunity off another Kickasola save.Â
- Less than a minute before halftime the Colonels doubled their lead as Lily Burchett scored off an assist from Madeleine League.Â
- At the half, Centre had outshot Covenant 7-2.Â
- Both teams had corner kick opportunities in the first 20 minutes of the second half, but neither could put the ball in the back of the net.Â
- In the 74th minute, Covenant got back in the game as Camille Raymond netted her first career goal, capitalizing off a Centre turnover.Â
- Centre responded in the 80th minute with Burchett's second goal of the evening, assisted by Meg Ralston.Â
GAME NOTES:Â
- Covenant moves to 0-5 all time against Centre.
- Centre outshot Covenant 14-6 and had an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal.Â
- Kickasola totaled eight saves on the night.Â
- Centre had 10 corner kicks while Covenant had one.Â
