WILMORE, Ky. - The Scots went north trying to spoil Asbury's pursuit of a regular season CCS Championship. Covenant put up a stronger fight than it did in the first meeting between the two teams, however it was Asbury who made enough plays to earn its 13th conference win.Ā

FIRST QUARTER:
- In the first five minutes of the game, Asbury opened up a 12-0 lead.
- Lucy Benson buried a pair of 3-pointers for the Scots to cut the lead to 15-6.
- The Eagles scored the final basket of the quarter which put them up 11 after one period.Ā
Ā SECOND QUARTER:
- Covenant kept utilizing the deep ball as Abby Slaton buried a triple for its first basket of the quarter.Ā
- Asbury went on a 9-0 run to push its lead to 28-9.Ā
- 3-pointers by Abby Witt and Slaton saw Covenant get within 13 points.Ā
- The Eagles scored the final four points of the quarter to go into the locker room ahead 34-17.Ā
Ā THIRD QUARTER:
- Covenant scored the first five points behind a triple from Amanda Neff and a made jumper from Breezy Savage.Ā
- Asbury scored seven points in a row across almost four minutes to move ahead 20 points.Ā
- The Scots kept fighting as Savage and Faith Wasden knocked down 3-pointers later in the quarter.Ā
- Two layups for the Eagles in the final minute put them up 56-34.Ā
Ā FOURTH QUARTER:
- Benson got the Scots on the board, but Asbury responded by scoring the next six points to make it 64-36.
- Ora Hall got on the scoresheet with a triple and a pair of free throws to put the score at 66-41.
- Witt and Cair Canady scored the final five points of the game as Covenant fell 71-46.
GAME NOTES:Ā
- Covenant moves to 0-4 all-time against Asbury.
- Benson led Covenant with eight points while Savage tallied seven points.Ā
- Covenant was 28.3% (13-46) from the field and 32.3% (10-31) shooting 3-pointers while Asbury was 37.9% (25-66) and 25% (7-28) in the same categories.Ā
- Covenant committed 34 turnovers and forced 15 turnovers on defense.Ā
- The Scots were a perfect 10-of-10 from the foul line while the Eagles were 14-of-15.Ā Ā
