LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant rounded out its home slate with a battle against Maryville. A late charge for Covenant proved to be too little too late as Maryville left town with an 11-point win.Â

FIRST QUARTER:
- Abby Witt scored Covenant's first six points with a 3-pointer and an old-fashioned 3-point play to put her team up 6-2.Â
- A basket by Cair Canady followed by made free throws from Amanda Neff put the score at 10-5.Â
- Maryville went on an 8-0 run to take the lead before Ora Hall scored with 23 seconds left to cut the lead to one point at 13-12.Â
 SECOND QUARTER:
- Maryville outscored Covenant 18-1 this period to blow open a 31-13 lead.Â
 THIRD QUARTER:
- The two teams traded defensive stops and baskets for the first five minutes before Hall knocked down a 3-pointer to make it 34-18.
- Seven points for Maryville in just over a minute pushed them ahead 44-22.
- Maryville extended its lead to 25 points before Savage scored with under a minute left which put the score at 48-25.
 FOURTH QUARTER:
- Covenant's lone basket in the first five minutes was a triple from Savage as the score read 52-28.Â
- Covenant scored eight points in row to gain some momentum before Maryville responded with the next five points to stay up 21 points.Â
- Across just over a minute, Covenant knocked down four 3-pointers, with two coming from Abby Slaton to get within nine points.Â
- Maryville iced the game with free throws in the final 20 seconds.Â
GAME NOTES:Â
- Covenant moves to 14-35 all-time against Maryville.Â
- The senior duo of Savage and Witt led Covenant with 13 points and 10 points.Â
- Neff tallied nine rebounds for Covenant.Â
- Olivia Cathers scored 23 points for Maryville to lead all scorers.Â
- Covenant was 36.2% (17-47) from the field and 32% (8-25) shooting 3-pointers while Maryville was 40% (20-50) and 33.3% (6-18) in the same categories.Â
- The rebound margin was tight with Covenant edging out Maryville 32-30.
