Scots Score Eight Times in Senior Day Win

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – Covenant celebrated Hannah Ford, Annabella Goehring, Lydia Osborne, and Adelle Stumbo for Senior Day pregame before taking on Wesleyan. The celebration carried through once the match started as the Scots rolled past the Wolves 8-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Ford netted Covenant's first goal in the fifth minute, dribbling down the left side before cutting in and scoring. AnnaLi Weekley earned the assist. 
  • At the 20-minute mark, Stumbo fired a left-footed shot that found the right side of the net after a pass from Weekley to make it 2-0. 
  • In the 24th minute, Abby Eastes scored with a shot that bounced in off the crossbar as she was sent in on goal by a through ball from Weekley. 
  • Less than three minutes later, Stumbo scored her second of the match with fellow senior, Osborne, tallying the assist with a great pass to make it 4-0. 
  • At the half, Covenant had 17 shots while Wesleyan had none. 
  • A handball in the penalty box gave Covenant a penalty kick in the 52nd minute as Goehring stepped up and scored to put the score at 5-0. 
  • After dishing out three assists, Weekley found the net herself in the 59th minute with a powerful strike from just inside the box. Stumbo was given the assist. 
  • At the 62-minute mark, Georgie Strawbridge got in on the scoring, dribbling past the goalie for a tap-in after being set up by Stumbo. 
  • Camille Raymond scored Covenant's eighth and final goal in the 80th minute, with a strike from just outside the box that found the bottom left of the net. Emma Anderson picked up the assist. 

GAME NOTES:

  • Covenant moves to 18-0 all-time against Wesleyan. 
  • The Scots had 40 shots on the day.
  • Goalkeepers Bronwyn Kickasola, Abby Zimbelman, and Elie Berndt combined for a clean sheet.
  • The Covenant defense did not allow one Wesleyan shot. 
  • The Scots had 11 corner kick opportunities while the Wolves had none. 
  • All four seniors scored or assisted on a goal in the win. 

UP NEXT: Covenant ends the regular season on Saturday, October 25 at Huntingdon.
