MARYVILLE, Tenn. - Looking to build off a pair of wins this past weekend, Covenant traveled to Maryville on Tuesday night. Covenant led at the break, but a strong third quarter for Maryville, where it outscored Covenant 20-10, proved to be the difference in a game that was decided by six points.Â

FIRST QUARTER:
- Maryville raced out to a 10-3 lead in the first four minutes with a Hannah Eidson 3-pointer serving as the lone Covenant basket.Â
- A 5-0 Covenant run with points scored from freshman Abby Slaton and Brooklyn Konrad cut the Maryville lead to two points.Â
- Covenant tied the game with 32 seconds left on a triple from Lucy Benson before a free throw by Maryville put it up 14-13 at the end of the quarter.Â
 SECOND QUARTER:
- Maryville scored four points in the first minute out of halftime to extend its lead to five points.Â
- Later in the quarter, Covenant went on a 9-0 scoring run, with four points coming from Cair Canady to move ahead 25-20.
- Maryville ended a seven-minute scoring drought with a pull-up jumper just before the halftime buzzer to put the score at 25-22.Â
 THIRD QUARTER:
- Capped off by a 3-pointer with 6:28 remaining in the quarter, Maryville went on an 11-2 run out of the locker room to go up 33-27.Â
- Slaton knocked down a pair of triples to keep Covenant within striking distance, but it still trailed 37-33.Â
- Three made free throws across the final two minutes for Maryville put the score at 42-35 going into the final frame.Â
FOURTH QUARTER:
- Both teams traded baskets for the first few minutes as an inside basket from Konrad cut the Maryville lead to five points.Â
- An 8-0 Maryville run across three minutes extended its lead to 56-43 and seemed to put the game out of reach for Covenant.Â
- Covenant came roaring back with a 10-0 run capped off by an old-fashioned 3-point play for Savage after a Maryville turnover, which put the score at 56-53 with 1:30 remaining.Â
- Covenant ran out of gas as it missed its final three shots from the field and two free throws as Maryville hung on for the six-point win.Â
GAME NOTES:Â
- Covenant moves to 14-34 all-time against Maryville.
- Savage with 13 points and Slaton with 12 points were Covenant's leading scorers on the night.Â
- Eidson scored seven points and brought down a team-high seven rebounds.Â
- Covenant shot 27.6% (16-58) from the field and 24.2% (8-33) from behind the 3-point line while Maryville was 38.9% (21-54) and 11.1% (1-9) in the same categories.Â
