LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant hosted Belhaven in its annual Max Out Barnes game in a matchup between two teams with a 3-1 CCS record in Barnes PE Center. After rallying from an early 20-point deficit by coming as close as six in the fourth quarter, the Scots came up short losing a highly competitive game, 67-57.

FIRST QUARTER:
- Belhaven scored the game's first six points before layups by Lucy Benson and Abby Witt pulled the Scots within two points.
- After some back and forth action, the Blazers finished the quarter on a 10-1 run in the final 3:20 of the quarter to give them a 22-10 lead after the first.
 SECOND QUARTER:
- Belhaven continued their success in the beginning of the second quarter as Coach McIntosh had to call a timeout with her team down 29-12.
- Covenant started to find it's offense late in the first quarter as they went on an 8-0 run in just 46 seconds off the backs of threes by Faith Wasden and Abby Slaton, which was followed by a steal and break away layup for Wasden. This run cut the Belhaven lead to 35-23.
- A buzzer-beating layup from Belhaven gave it a 38-23 lead going into the locker room for halftime.
 THIRD QUARTER:
- Covenant came out with a different energy in the second half as they cut the Belhaven lead to 40-29 after a 3-pointer from Breezy Savage and three free throws from Witt.
- Covenant kept itself within striking distance with the help of Cair Canady who made a layup and an old-fashioned three point play to help cut Belhaven's lead to eight with 4:37 to play in the third quarter..
- The Scots scored the last four points of the quarter including a buzzer-beating jumper from Hannah Eidson to trim the Belhaven lead to 51-43.
 FOURTH QUARTER:
- Covenant continued to fight in the fourth as a basket from Amanda Neff and three from Slaton kept the deficit at eight.
- A layup and a steal in the back court from Benson with two minutes to play kept the Scots close but they couldn't make enough shots at the end, eventually falling 67-57.
GAME NOTES:Â
- Covenant moves to 3-5 all-time against Belhaven.
- Savage led the Scots balanced scoring attack with 10 points to go along with four assists, three steals, and three rebounds.
- Slaton and Canady each contributed eight points off the bench.
- Witt led the team in rebounding with eight, to go along with five points.
- Covenant outrebounded Belhaven 42-40.
- The Scots were cold from the floor making just 25% (5-20) of their three pointers, 38% (21-56) of their shots from the floor, and 50% (10-20) of their free throws.
- Covenant's turnovers hurt it, especially in the first half as it ended up with 28 for the game while Belhaven had 21 turnovers.
