Box Score DEMOREST, Ga. - For the first of three games this week, Covenant had an opportunity to take down league-leaders, Piedmont, on their home court. The Lions turned out to be too strong across 40 minutes for the Scots, cruising to a double-digit win.Â

Records: Covenant (7-7, 3-3 CCS), Piedmont (11-5, 7-0 CCS)
FIRST QUARTER:
- Covenant went scoreless for over three minutes to begin the game allowing Piedmont to go up 4-0.
- A 3-pointer for the Lions moved them ahead 7-2.
- The Scots locked in on defense allowing just three points the final six minutes of the quarter.
- Free throws from Abby Slaton with 22 seconds remaining put Covenant in front 10-9.
 SECOND QUARTER:
- The Lions began the quarter on a 12-0 run to move ahead by double-digits at 21-10.
- Abby Witt and Slaton scored baskets on consecutive possessions to cut the Piedmont lead to 24-17.
- A quick 7-0 run for the Lions pushed their lead to 17 points before a pair of free throws from Breezy Savage put the score at 31-19 at the intermission.Â
 THIRD QUARTER:
- Piedmont scored the first seven points of the quarter to extend its lead to 38-19.
- The Lions continued to disrupt the Scots' offense as Covenant struggled to score and trailed 49-24 with 2:07 left in the quarter.Â
- A 3-pointer with 1:13 remaining pushed Piedmont's lead to 32 followed by a pair of scores from both teams to make it 58-26 going into the final frame.Â
 FOURTH QUARTER:
- Despite the result already decided, Covenant fought hard and outscored Piedmont 13-12 in the final 10 minutes.Â
GAME NOTES:Â
- Covenant moves to 11-29 all-time against Piedmont.
- Savage led the Covenant offense with 13 points with the help of a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line.Â
- Witt made an impact on the glass with 12 rebounds.Â
- Covenant shot 19.3% (11-57) from the field and 9.5% (2-22) from the 3-point line while Piedmont was 36.8% (21-57) and 35.3% (6-17) in the same categories.Â
- Covenant turned the ball over 27 times and forced 20 turnovers from Piedmont.Â
