LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant started conference play against Huntingdon in front of a big Homecoming crowd. The Scots took the lead early and that turned out to be all they needed to start league play 1-0.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- AnnaLi Weekley put Covenant in front in the 12th minute as she scored her team-high third goal of the year after a great pass from Emma Riggs from the right side of the field.Â
- Lila Wiley nearly gave the Scots their second goal in the 22nd minute, but her attempt at goal fired off the left woodwork.Â
- Covenant kept up the attack as Mae Pierce had her effort from outside the box ring off the post in the 41st minute.Â
- At the intermission, Covenant had outshot Huntingdon 12-2.Â
- In the first 15 minutes of the second half, Covenant forced four saves from the Huntingdon keeper who kept her team in the game.Â
- Despite trying their best to get back in the game, the Hawks mustered just one shot in the second half which was off target.Â
- The Scots continued to try and get their second goal, but saves from the Huntingdon keeper in the 78th minute and 87th minute ensured Covenant would win just 1-0.
GAME NOTES:Â
- Covenant moves to 18-1-2 all-time against Huntingdon.
- The Scots outshot the Hawks 26-3 and had a 10-0 advantage in shots on goal.Â
- Covenant had nine corner kicks while Huntingdon had two.Â
- The foul count was 9-7 Covenant.
