MT. BERRY, Ga. - Before the Scots could enjoy the start of Homecoming weekend, they had to take care of business on the road at Berry. With the help of a defiant Covenant defense, the boys in blue held strong to earn the shutout and leave town with a win.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
- Kade Theunissen had Covenant's first attempt on goal in the 16th minute that was saved at the bottom left of the goal.Â
- Berry finished the half threatening as it had four shot attempts in the final five minutes of the half, two of which forced saves.Â
- At the intermission, the Vikings had outshot the Scots 11-3.
- In the 51st minute, Covenant got what turned out to be the deciding goal as Tyler Johnson headed in a cross from Eric Sonnenschein.
- The Vikings had the next shot on goal that was saved at the bottom left of the goal by Eli Honeycutt in the 73rd minute.Â
- Covenant came back down the field the next minute and had an attempt on goal of its own, this one by Ty Morgan in the bottom center. Â
- Berry had two corner kicks in the final 10 minutes, but couldn't get past the Covenant defense to earn an equalizer.Â
GAME NOTES:Â
- Covenant moves to 17-31-6 all-time against Berry.
- The Vikings outshot the Scots 17-8 and had a higher shots on goal count at 6-4.
- Honeycutt tallied five saves in goal.Â
- Covenant had the higher foul count 11-8.
