BEREA, K.y. - The Scots had to wait an extra day to begin their 2024 season after their match with Transylvania was rained out. That being said, the result was worth the wait as Covenant defeated former CCS foe, Berea, 3-0 on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Lila Wiley had Covenant's first shot on target in the 16th minute, but it was saved at the bottom center of goal.
- Covenant kept threatening as it had four more shots in the next 15 minutes.
- Covenant had a corner kick opportunity in the 35th minute and 41st minute, but were unable to capitalize on either one.
- At the intermission, Covenant had outshot Berea 9-1, but the score still read 0-0.
- Covenant finally got its breakthrough in the 58th minute as Lila Wiley scored a goal assisted by Mae Pierce.
- The Scots doubled their lead in the 69th minute as freshman Campbell Ayres bagged her first career goal off an assist from fellow freshman AnnaLi Weekley.
- Weekley later scored her first career goal in the 76th minute to make it 3-0 as Abby Eastes provided the assist.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 8-0-1 all-time against Berea.
- The Scots outshot the Mountaineers 24-1.
- Both teams committed four fouls.
- Covenant had five corner kicks while Berea had none.
- In her first career start, goalkeeper Bronwyn Kickasola earned a clean sheet.
