MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Scots and Hawks battled on Monday to determine who would take the series win to begin conference play. A pair of big swings for Huntingdon helped it get the win on its home field.Â

Records: Covenant (8-13, 1-2 CCS), Huntingdon (11-8, 2-1 CCS)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Hawks took a 1-0 lead as Matthew Robinson led off the second inning with a home run.Â
- Later in the frame, Huntingdon added another run on a RBI single to left field.Â
- Sam Cecil tied the game in the fourth inning with a 2-run home run, his second of the season.
- As the inning continued on, Harrison Adelgren delivered a RBI single and Jonathan Ponder scored on a passed ball to put Covenant ahead 4-2.Â
- In the bottom of the frame, Huntingdon went back ahead on a grand slam from Jabez Sampson.
- A RBI double later in the inning put the score at 7-4 in Huntingdon's favor.Â
- Adelgren delivered another key hit for the Scots in the sixth inning, this one a 2-RBI double to right-center field to make it 7-6.
- A bases-loaded walk immediately followed by a RBI sac bunt put the Hawks back up three runs in the sixth inning.Â
- Huntingdon added an insurance run in the eighth inning via an infield error with two outs.
- The Scots got their first two runners on base in the ninth, but a double play ended any thoughts of a late rally.Â
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 14-23 all-time against Huntingdon.
- Each team had 12 hits.
- Covenant had two errors while Huntingdon had one.Â
- Adelgren (3-for-5. 3 RBI) and Kenny Mills (3-for-5) were the leading producers for Covenant offensively.Â
- Daniel Bell also had a productive day at the plate with two hits.Â
- RHP Scotty Smith went six innings and took the loss (6 IP, 12 H, 9 ER, 2 BB, 3 K).
- RHP Aeden Beuning pitched in relief (2 IP, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K).Â
