LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant welcomed Piedmont to Lookout Mountain for its first game of a busy three-game week. The Scots took care of business against the Lions to pick up their second-consecutive win.Â

FIRST QUARTER:
- The Lions went up 5-0 early on as Covenant came up empty on its first five offensive possessions.Â
- Abby Witt ended the run with a made jumper assisted by Megan Rouse.
- Another quick 5-0 run for Piedmont put it ahead 10-2.
- Lucy Benson hit a triple for Covenant with six seconds remaining to get her team within five points after the first quarter.Â
 SECOND QUARTER:
- Breezy Savage and Megan Rouse each knocked down a 3-pointer to get Covenant back within one point at 14-13.Â
- Midway through the quarter, Benson gave the Scots the lead at 15-14 with a good jumper.Â
- A 6-0 run for Piedmont put it back in front 21-15.Â
- Witt and Benson got baskets to go inside in the final 90 seconds to cut the lead to 22-19 at the break.
 THIRD QUARTER:
- Covenant was held scoreless for the two-and-a-half minutes, but a layup by Benson cut the Piedmont lead to 25-21.Â
- The Lions got an old-fashioned 3-point play to move ahead 30-22.
- A 3-pointer by Rilee Smith sparked a 5-0 run for Covenant to make it a one possession game again.Â
- In the final minute, Savage scored a layup and a 3-pointer seconds before the buzzer to put the Scots ahead 37-36.Â
 FOURTH QUARTER:
- Benson buried a triple on Covenant's first offensive possession to keep the momentum in its favor.Â
- After Piedmont got back within one point, Karis McIntosh and Savage both knocked down two free throws to give Covenant some cushion.Â
- The Scots continued to press on as Rouse and Witt made shots to put them ahead 48-41.
- Savage put the nail in the coffin, sinking a 3-pointer with 1:07 remaining to put the Scots up 51-43.Â
GAME NOTES:Â
- Covenant moves to 11-28 all-time against Piedmont.Â
- Benson had 14 points while Savage had 13 points to lead the way offensively.Â
- Witt posted her second double-double of the year with 10 points and a career-high 14 rebounds.Â
- Covenant was 37.5% (18-48) from the field while Piedmont was 28.1% (16-57).
- The Scots held the Lions to a season-low total in points.Â
