MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Playing in its second road game in as many days, Covenant took on Huntingdon looking for a key conference win. The Hawks had other plans, taking down the Scots 63-51.

FIRST QUARTER:
- The Scots trailed 6-0 early on as Briana McGruder scored all six points for Huntingdon.
- A 3-pointer with 3:33 remaining pushed Huntingdon's lead to 10-2.
- A layup by Breezy Savage helped Covenant score five of the last seven points of the quarter to cut the Huntingdon lead to 12-7.
SECOND QUARTER:
- A pair of free throws by Lucy Benson, followed by a triple from Rilee Smith put Covenant within one point at 13-12.
- Covenant buried another 3-pointer, this one by Amanda Neff to tie the game at 15.
- Huntingdon went on a 10-0 to push its lead up to 27-17.
- The Hawks scored the final basket of the quarter to go into the locker room up 29-18.
THIRD QUARTER:
- Huntingdon pushed its lead to 15 points early on in the quarter before a triple by Karis McIntosh cut into it.
- Midway through the quarter the Scots kept themselves within 12 points after Abby Witt got a layup to go inside.
- A 9-1 run for the Hawks puts its lead to 20 points.
- Rouse scored with 12 seconds remaining to stop the bleeding and put the score at 48-30.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- A made free throw and a layup put Huntingdon ahead by a game-high 21 points.
- A 6-0 run for the Scots cut the lead to 15 points at 57-42, but there was only 2:43 remaining in the game.
- Covenant got as close to 10 points after a Lucy Benson triple, but ran out of time to come all the way back.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant drops to 9-22 all-time against Huntingdon.
- Rouse had 14 points and eight rebounds to lead Covenant offensively.
- Witt posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. This is her third consecutive game with at least 10 rebounds.
- The Scots shot 34% (17-50) while the Hawks were 33.3% (21-63) from the field.
- Covenant had 17 turnovers and forced 12 turnovers on defense.
UP NEXT: Covenant takes on Maryville on Tuesday night at 5 p.m. for its final home game of the year.
