LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Playing in its final home game of the year, Covenant welcomed Maryville to campus. Maryville were the superior Scots this evening, as they won 63-48 and never trailed during the game.

FIRST QUARTER:
- Maryville came out firing with an 8-0 run to start the game with the help of two made triples.
- Megan Rouse ended the run with a layup midway through the quarter.
- Baskets on back-to-back possessions for Maryville pushed its lead to 12-2.
- Amanda Neff scored inside and Rilee Smith knocked down a free throw to cut the lead to 14-5 after 10 minutes.
SECOND QUARTER:
- Covenant scored on its opening possession as Abby Witt got a shot to go inside.
- A 10-2 run for Maryville saw it moved ahead 26-10.
- Breezy Savage converted a 3-point play after being fouled then Rouse buried two free throws to cut the Maryville lead to 26-15.
- Maryville scored the final four points, including a layup with nine seconds remaining to go up 30-15 at the intermission.
THIRD QUARTER:
- A basket from Witt was immediately answered by Maryville after both teams went over two minutes without scoring.
- An 11-1 run for Covenant after it started full-court pressing put it back within six points at 34-28.
- Maryville responded with six-straight points, four that came from the free throw line.
- With both teams in the bonus, each team made six free throws in the final 2:15 as Maryville led 48-34.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- An old-fashioned 3-point play by Maryville sparked a 6-0 run to extend its lead to 54-35.
- With the help of its first triple of the night made by Smith, Covenant went on a 7-0 run to cut the Maryville lead to 15 points with 3:32 remaining.
- Covenant didn't get any closer as Maryville scored three more times.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 14-33 all-time against Maryville.
- Witt led Covenant in scoring with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting. She was a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line.
- Rouse posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. She also had four blocks.
- Savage was also in double-figures with 10 points and seven rebounds.
- Covenant was 23.9% (11-46) from the field, 5.9% (1-17) from the 3-point line, and 80.6% (25-31) from the free throw line.
- Maryville shot 32.2% (19-59) from the field, 27.8% (5-18) from the 3-point line, and 74.1% (20-27) from the free throw line.
UP NEXT: Covenant visits Agnes Scott on Saturday for its final game of the regular season. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
