LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant returned to Barnes P.E. Center looking to pick up a nonconference win over Pensacola Christian. Covenant led most of the game, but costly mistakes late hurt the Scots as they fell by three points.Â

FIRST QUARTER:
- The Scots went scoreless for over two minutes to start the game before Lucy Benson got a basket to go in transition.Â
- Benson's basket launched an 11-0 run for the Scots capped off by another made shot from Benson.
- Abby Witt had Covenant's final basket of the quarter as it led 15-8.
 SECOND QUARTER:
- Breezy Savage drilled a 3-pointer 30 seconds into the quarter starting.Â
- With 7:44 remaining it was Witt's turn to drill a triple as Covenant was on top 23-15.
- Only one point was scored over the next four minutes as both teams went cold.Â
- Savage delivered a fast break basket inside the final minute to put the Scots up 29-21 at halftime.
 THIRD QUARTER:
- Hannah Eidson got Covenant on the board in the third quarter with a 3-pointer off an offensive rebound.Â
- With 6:36 remaining, Amanda Neff earned three points the hard way with a layup while being fouled to make it 37-28.Â
- Eidson drilled another triple later in the quarter to put the Scots lead back to double-digits at 42-31.
- The Scots scored four points in the final minute to push their lead to 48-34.
 FOURTH QUARTER:
- In just under five minutes to begin the period, the Eagles went on a 14-0 run to tie the game.Â
- After Pensacola Christian briefly took the lead, Benson scored four points in a row to put Covenant up 54-51.
- Benson delivered again for Covenant with 1:23 remaining to make it 57-52.
- Made layups on consecutive possessions for the Eagles put the score at 57-56 with 27 seconds left.Â
- On the ensuing possession, a Covenant turnover led to what turned out to be the winning basket for Pensacola Christian.Â
- Down three points with five seconds left, Covenant was unable to get a shot off.Â
GAME NOTES:Â
- Covenant moves to 1-2 all-time against Pensacola Christian.
- Benson led the Scots with 15 points and nine rebounds.
- Savage also had 15 points for Covenant on 5-of-11 shooting.Â
- Covenant's final double-digit scorer was Eidson with 12 points.Â
- Covenant shot 28.6% (20-70) from the field and 21.2% (7-33) from behind the 3-point line while Pensacola Christian was 35.4% (23-65) and 0% (0-12) in the same categories.Â
- Each team struggled to take care of the ball as Covenant had 28 turnovers while Pensacola Christian tallied 27.Â
