LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Covenant began postseason play on Saturday in the CCS Semifinals gave it a first-round bye. The Scots took on No. 4 seeded Maryville who gave them everything they could handle, but Covenant did what it had to do to earn the result.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
- Covenant immediately went in front as Kade Theunnisen assisted a Luke Laughlin header off a corner kick in the second minute.Â
- The Scots kept getting corner kick opportunities with eight of them over the next 25 minutes.Â
- Fox Landgren and Theunissen had Covenant's final shots of the half, both of which were off target.
- At the half, Covenant had outshot Maryville 11-2.
- Less than two minutes after the intermission Craig Mcllwraith netted a free kick from just outside the box at the bottom left of the goal that tied the match at one.Â
- Tisdale scored the winner in the 75th minute on a rebound off his first shot that was saved by the Maryville keeper.
- In the final 10 minutes, Maryville had two good chances with deflected shots, but fortunately for Covenant both went wide of the net.Â
GAME NOTES:Â
- Covenant moves to 10-9-3 all-time against Maryville.
- Theunissen's assist in the second minute was his 14th of the year, breaking the school record for most assists in a single season.
- Covenant outshot Maryville 21-6.
- Corner kick count was 17-1 Covenant.
- Maryville had a higher tally in fouls at 14-12.
