CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Covenant started fall break with the UTC XC Invite on Friday morning at Camp Jordan. The Scots showed out strong as the Men's team placed second out of six teams while the Women's team was third out of seven teams.Ā
Both teams defeated fellow Division III opposition Maryville and Sewanee.Ā
MEN'S RESULTS
- Josiah Mellott finished seventh with a time of 25:50 which is second best in program history and just two seconds off the record time.Ā
- Placing 13th with a time of 26:36 was Daniel Bowles, who set a new personal record.Ā
- With a time of 27:59 and a 20th-place finish was Ethan Saiki.Ā
- Chandler Lines (23rd, 28:05) and John Purtill (24th, 28:06) ran the race together and were the next two Scots' runners to finish. Both times were personal records.
- Samuel Harrelson earned 27th place with a time of 28:13 for a new personal record.
- Troy Daniel (29th, 28:38) and Aidan DeVries (30th, 28:42) were neck-and-neck and achieved new personal record times.Ā
- Ā The final five runners that competed were Jack Dupree (34th, 29:00), Ethan Caswell (38th, 29:24), Alex Burns (40th, 29:42), Jacob Howington (41st, 30:00), and Andor Agustsson (43rd, 30:09).
WOMEN'S RESULTS
- Emerson Tillery posted another personal record with a time of 23:46.6 to finish 15th and lead the Scots. This is the fastest 6k time by a Covenant runner since 2021.
- Right behind her was Evangelia Berry who placed 20th and finished the race in 23:57.9. Her time was also a personal record in the 6k and is in the top 20 of 6k times in school history.
- With a time of 24:58.8 and a 25th-place result, Maggie McGinley also set a new personal record.Ā
- Lydia Moore posted her fastest time of the fall, finishing the race in 25:34.6 which put her in 31st place.Ā
- Greta McLean was the final runner to finish and count for Covenant's team score as she placed 35th with a time of 25:57.6. This marked another personal record for the Scots.
- Sophia Velleco (39th, 26:27.0) and Kenzie Stapleton (40th, 26:33.6) were with each other all the way to set two more personal records for the Scots.Ā
- Claire Mellott (44th, 27:42.9) and Kali Hina (53rd, 29:28.2) were the final two Covenant runners that competed.Ā
