MARYVILLE, Tenn. - For the 2024 edition of the Highland Cup, Covenant headed north to take on Maryville. Covenant had a big advantage in shot count at 24-6, however the score read 1-1 as both teams shared the points.Â

HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
- Fox Landgren nearly gave Covenant the early lead in the fifth minute, but his shot fired off the right woodwork.Â
- Brady Hammer put Maryville up 1-0 in the 18th minute as he dribbled past the goalie and fired a shot in the goal after being played in by Jorge Grainel.Â
- Less than four minutes later, Covenant got the equalizer as Henry Parker scored from close range after a centering cross by Kade Theunissen.Â
- Neither team put a shot on net for the remainder of the half.Â
- Covenant keeper Eli Honeycutt was forced into saves in the left side of the net in the 46th minute and the 55th minute.Â
- Maryville lost a man in the 59th minute as Tucker Smith was assessed a red card.Â
- Theunissen forced two saves in the 66th and 69th minute, but the Maryville goalie held his ground.
- Covenant fired seven shots in the final 10 minutes of the match, but none of them found the back of the net.Â
