LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, GA. - For its first game of the weekend, Covenant battled Huntingdon. The Scots fought tough, but ultimately fell short 73-67 to the Hawks.

FIRST QUARTER:
- On Covenant's opening possession of the game, Karis McIntosh splashed a 3-pointer.
- Huntingdon rode a 6-0 scoring run to go ahead 8-5.
- Rilee Smith ended a scoring drought that lasted over five minutes with a triple to tie the game at eight with 2:38 left.
- The Hawks came right back down the other end of the court and scored six points quickly to go up 14-8.
- Abby Witt and Breezy Savage each knocked down a pair of free throws towards the end of the quarter to get Covenant back within three points at 15-12.
SECOND QUARTER:
- Huntingdon scored eight of the first 10 points of the quarter to move ahead 23-14.
- Lucy Benson cut into the lead with an old-fashioned 3-point play.
- Smith hit another 3-pointer with 5:41 remaining to cut the Huntingdon lead to six at 26-20.
- Fueled by a 9-2 run to end the quarter, the Hawks went into the locker room up 35-24.
THIRD QUARTER:
- Witt made a triple early on to cut the Hawks lead back to single digits at 38-29.
- McIntosh hit a 3-pointer herself two possessions later and just like that the Scots were back within six points.
- Huntingdon pushed back with a 7-0 run to go back ahead 48-37 with 4:13 remaining.
- Smith sank a 3-pointer and Megan Rouse made a jumper in the final minute to put the Scots down just six points going into the final quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- Rouse and Savage had Covenant's first baskets of the quarter as it trailed 55-50.
- After Huntingdon extended its lead back to nine points, Benson knocked in a 3-pointer.
- Four made free throws for the Hawks put them back ahead by 10 with 3:53 remaining.
- Covenant came roaring back with a 9-1 scoring run to cut the lead to 64-62.
- The Hawks scored on their next three possessions to go ahead 70-62 with 18 seconds remaining.
- Benson scored a layup and McIntosh hit a triple in the final 15 seconds, but Huntingdon made the free throws it needed to close out the game.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant drops to 9-21 all-time against Huntingdon.
- The Scots had four players in double-figures led by McIntosh with 15 points.
- Benson (14 points, seven rebounds), Witt (13 points, eight rebounds) and Smith (career-high 13 points) were the other three standouts offensively.
- Covenant shot 41.4% (24-58) while Huntingdon was 37.5% (24-64) from the field.
- The Scots turned the ball over 19 times and forced seven turnovers on defense.
