LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - For its first game of a busy week, Covenant welcomed Berea to town, who came in with an undefeated conference record. The Scots gave the Mountaineers a run for their money, but the Mountaineers ultimately came away with a 67-61 win.

FIRST QUARTER:
- Megan Rouse got the Scots started on the right foot with a 3-pointer at the top of the key on their first possession.
- After Covenant went up 5-2, Berea scored 11 consecutive points to move ahead 13-5 with 2:51 remaining.
- Layups by Amandad Neff and Rilee Smith helped Covenant cut the Berea lead to 17-11 at the end of the quarter.
SECOND QUARTER:
- Rouse continued to be a hot hand for the Scots as a layup and another 3-pointer put Covenant within three points at 21-18.
- The Scots then went over four minutes scoreless allowing Berea to move ahead 28-18.
- A triple from Karis McIntosh followed by an inside basket by Ella Grace Squires ended the scoreless drought for Covenant.
- With 1:49 remaining, Squires hit her first 3-pointer of the season to cut the Berea lead to 31-26.
- The Mountaineers scored the final four points of the half to go up 35-26 at the intermission.
THIRD QUARTER:
- Berea kept its foot on the pedal, by starting the quarter on a 6-1 run to move ahead 41-27.
- The Scots stopped some of the bleeding as Breezy Savage made a layup followed by a triple from Smith to put the score at 45-35.
- The Mountaineers ended the quarter on a 9-0 run to go up 54-35.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- With the help of four made 3-pointers by Smith, Covenant came storming back to put the score at 62-51.
- Back-to-back triples from Abby Witt and Rouse closed the Berea lead to eight points at 67-59 with 2:05 remaining.
- The Scots came up empty on their next two offensive possessions and ultimately ran out of time to complete the fourth quarter comeback.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant drops to 1-12 all-time against Berea.
- Smith scored 17 points with a career-high five triples to lead Covenant offensively.
- Rouse posted 15 points and six rebounds. She made all three attempts from behind the arc.
- Covenant shot 40% (22-55) from the field while Berea was 36.4% (24-66).
- The Scots made a season-high 12 3-pointers.
- Berea won the rebound battle 40-30.
