DEMOREST, Ga. - For its second road game of the week, Covenant took its travel to Piedmont. The Scots struggled in the first quarter, which led to their third loss in a row.

FIRST QUARTER:
- Breezy Savage put Covenant ahead on its first possession of the game after grabbing an offensive rebound.
- A 3-pointer capped off a 9-0 run for the Lions that put them ahead 9-2.
- With 3:18 remaining, Lucy Benson knocked down a triple to cut the Piedmont lead to 12-7.
- Piedmont went on another 9-0 run to end the quarter up 21-7.
SECOND QUARTER:
- The Lions kept their run going into the second quarter as a triple put them in front 24-7.
- Benson made a pair of free throws and Savage hit a 3-pointer to end the run and cut the lead to 24-12.
- The Scots went scoreless for the next four minutes, before Benson hit her second 3-pointer of the game to put the score at 28-15.
- On the ensuing possession, Piedmont got a layup to take a 30-15 lead into the locker room.
THIRD QUARTER:
- Each team came out in the opening minute strong offensively as Piedmont made two shots while Savage hit a layup inside for Covenant.
- A 6-0 run for the Lions extended their lead to 43-19.
- Another triple from Benson ended a scoring drought of over four minutes for the Scots.
- Abby Witt got a floater to fall in the closing seconds of the third quarter, but Covenant trailed 44-24.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- Three made free throws by Savage started the final quarter on the right foot for Covenant.
- Baskets on consecutive possessions for Piedmont put it ahead 51-29 and ended any idea of a late comeback for Covenant.
- Savage knocked down a triple to cut the lead to 51-32 before both teams emptied their benches with just over four minutes left in the game.
- Hannah Eidson and Cair Canady each got on the scoresheet in the final minutes of the game for Covenant.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant drops to 10-28 all-time against Piedmont.
- Benson scored a game-high 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting.
- Savage was also in double-figures with 13 points.
- Covenant was 26.2% (11-42) shooting while Piedmont was 35.9% (23-64).
- The Scots were outrebounded 42-31.
- Each team struggled with turnovers as Covenant turned it over 31 times while Piedmont committed 20 turnovers.
