MARYVILLE, Tenn. - In the first of two road games this week, Covenant visited Maryville. After holding onto a small lead for most of the game, Covenant struggled offensively in the fourth quarter and ultimately fell 55-43.

FIRST QUARTER:
- After Maryville scored the first points of the game, Karis McIntosh knocked down a 3-pointer to get Covenant on the board.
- Breezy Savage and Megan Rouse got baskets to go inside as Covenant increased its lead to 7-2.
- With 1:06 remaining, Maryville scored its first points in over eight minutes to cut the lead to 9-4.
- After grabbing an offensive rebound in the final seconds of the quarter, Rilee Smith made a layup to put Covenant ahead 11-4.
SECOND QUARTER:
- Each team exchanged a pair of free throws in the first few minutes as Covenant led 12-6.
- Megan Rouse and Abby Witt sparked a quick 4-0 run for Covenant to extend its lead to double-digits at 16-6.
- Maryville fought back as a 9-2 run put it back within three points with 3:35 remaining.
- McIntosh ended the run with her second triple of the game to put Covenant ahead 21-15.
- Maryville had the final points of the half with a fast break layup off a turnover to cut Covenant's lead to 21-17 at the intermission.
THIRD QUARTER:
- Maryville drilled a 3-pointer on its opening possession out of halftime.
- Rouse found some success inside scoring six of Covenant's next eight points as it led 29-24.
- Lucy Benson put Covenant ahead 32-26 with a 3-pointer with 2:42 remaining.
- Maryville ended the quarter on a 4-0 run to pull back within one point at 33-32 going into the fourth quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- Maryville started the quarter on a 15-0 run across over eight minutes of game time to go up 47-33.
- Benson ended the run with a transition 3-pointer with 1:43 remaining.
- In the final minute of the game, Breezy Savage had a fastbreak layup and a 3-pointer, but it was too little too late.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant drops to 14-32 all-time against Maryville.
- Rouse led Covenant offensively with 13 points on 6-of-10 shooting. She also had six rebounds.
- Benson flirted with a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.
- Covenant shot 35.4% (17-48) from the field while Maryville was 30% (17-56).
- Maryville made its hay at the free throw line, shooting 81.8% (18-22) while Covenant was 57.1% (4-7).
- Covenant had 11 more turnovers than Maryville with 20 compared to nine.
