LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - In a rematch of last year's CCS Championship match, Covenant hosted LaGrange on Homecoming. Behind the support of a huge crowd at Scotland Yard, the Scots took care of business, winning 2-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Whitt Tisdale, Luke Laughlin, Tyler Swinehart, and Kade Theunissen each had shots for Covenant inside the first 10 minutes, however none challenged the LaGrange goalie.
- Eli Honeycutt made a tough save in the 18th minute for Covenant, coming across the goal to keep the match scoreless.
- Fox Landgren bent one in the right side of the post to give the Scots the lead in the 28th minute. Tisdale earned the assist for the goal.
- Tisdale had a great opportunity to give Covenant its second goal in the 36th minute, but his shot hit the crossbar.
- At halftime, the Scots had 11 shots while the Panthers had five.
- In the opening minutes of the second half, Tisdale had two shots while Zachary Moir had a shot. All three missed the target.
- The Scots had back-to-back corner kicks early on in period two as well, but could not do anything with the set pieces.
- Honeycutt made another save, this time at the top of his goal in the 66th minute to keep his team in front.
- Tisdale found the end of a long ball and dribbled past the goalie on a breakaway which led to a tap in goal in the 82nd minute to kill off the game.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 17-1-0 all-time against LaGrange.
- Covenant had more than double the amount of shots then LaGrange at 19-9.
- The foul count was 10-9 with Covenant having 10.
- Tisdale scored three goals across two games this week in his return from injury.
UP NEXT: Covenant travels to Belhaven on Oct. 7 for another CCS match. The match is scheduled to start at 8:30 PM EST.
