GREENVILLE, Ill. - Covenant traveled to Greenville on a two-game winning streak. The Scots were unable to keep the streak going as they lost a shootout to the Panthers to drop to 2-2 on the season.

FIRST HALF:
- The Scots and the Panthers traded buckets early on as a layup from Eli Witt tied the game at seven.
- Jesse Kinard gave Covenant its first lead of the game with a 3-pointer with 14:04 remaining in the half.
- Buckets by Witt and Luke Crowden extended the Scots lead to 19-12.
- On the fastbreak, Witt got a basket to go to put the Scots ahead 25-17 midway through the half.
- A 10-1 run for Greenville put it back ahead at 27-26.
- Greenville continued to gain momentum as a pair of 3-pointers put it ahead 42-34.
- A 7-0 run for the Panthers put their lead to double-digits at 54-39.
- The two teams kept going up and down the court scoring as eventually the Panthers led 71-55 at the intermission.
SECOND HALF:
- The Panthers extended their lead to 20 points on a jumper from Joseph Craig.
- A 9-0 run for Covenant capped off by a triple from Crowden cut the Greenville lead to 78-67.
- Witt found another bucket on the fast break to cut the lead to 10 with 13:47 remaining.
- At the midway point of the half, Compare scored, but the Scots still trailed 95-81.
- A 7-0 run from Covenant put it back within reach of Greenville at 99-93.
- With the Scots down 11, the Panthers went on an 8-0 run to put the game out of reach.
- Crowden scored twice in the final few minutes but it was too little too late as the Scots fell 125-107.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 0-3 all-time against Greenville.
- Witt scored a career-high 27 points on 13-of-17 shooting. He also posted seven rebounds.
- Crowden had a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
- Kinard (16 points), Jonathan Gernatt (15 points), David Compere (13 points), and Fisher Mitchell (10 points) were also in double figures scoring.
- Covenant was 54.1% (40-74) shooting while Greenville was 42.3% (41-97) shooting.
- The Scots had 31 turnovers while the Panthers had 18.
UP NEXT: Covenant has a break for Thanksgiving before restarting play on Nov. 28 against Welch at home. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
