JACKSON, Miss. - No. 25 Covenant took on No. 13 Berry and Millsaps for two nonconference games with SAA opponents on Friday night. Berry was too much for Covenant in the first game, but the Scots responded in the nightcap with a win over Millsaps.
Game 1 Final: No. 25 Covenant 0, No. 13 Berry 3
Records: No. 25 Covenant (25-2, 14-0 CCS), No. 13 Berry (20-4, 13-0 SAA)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Covenant trailed 7-4 early on, but kills from Emma Kalbfleisch and Cali Sandhoff put it back to within one point.
- The two teams were neck-and-neck as an attack error by Berry put Covenant down by just one point again at 14-13.
- A 5-0 run for the Vikings gave them a cushion with 19-13 lead.
- Three consecutive kills from three different women gave Berry the first set, 25-18.
- After another 5-0 scoring run at the beginning of the second set, the Vikings led 7-3.
- Covenant battled back and eventually led 13-10 in set two after back-to-back service aces from Kalbfleisch.
- Berry took back control of the set with a 9-1 run to lead 22-16.
- Covenant got back to within one point,but ultimately two consecutive kills by Bella Boston for Berry gave them the set 25-22.
- A kill from Kyle Bailey assisted by Rachel Bartlett tied the score at six in the early stages of set three.
- Another kill from Bailey kept the score close midway through the set with the Vikings leading 14-13.
- With Covenant up 19-18, the Vikings went on a 6-0 run to be within one point of taking the set and the match.
- Boston delivered the final kill to give Berry the win at 25-20.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant drops to 3-18 all time against Berry.
- Kalbfleisch led the Scots with a double-double of 14 kills and 13 digs.
- Bartlett also tallied a double-double with 26 assists and 15 digs.
- The loss ends Covenant's program record win streak of 20 games.
Game 2 Final: No. 25 Covenant 3, Millsaps 1

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Millsaps put the pressure on in set one as back-to-back service aces gave it a 10-7 lead.
- The Majors kept up the attack on the Scots as a 5-0 run gave them a 20-14 lead.
- Covenant got back to within three points, but ultimately fell 25-20 in set one.
- Set two was competitive as a kill from Bailey tied the set at eight.
- A 5-0 run on Sarah Jennings' service rotation saw Covenant take a 14-10 lead, but Millsaps immediately responded with six-straight points to take the lead back.
- With Millsaps up 21-20, Covenant went on a 4-0 run highlighted by two kills from Kelsey Carman to take a 24-21 lead.
- The set ended 25-22 in favor of the Scots after a kill from Hannah Haerer.
- With the help of two consecutive service aces by Kalbfleisch, the Scots took a 7-3 lead in set three.
- Millsaps slowly got back into the set as it tied the score at 14 after a Covenant service error.
- Behind two kills from Bailey and two attack errors from the Majors, Covenant went on a 4-0 run to take a 23-18 lead.
- Bailey ended the set at 25-20 after another kill, her fourth of the set.
- Covenant kept its momentum going into the fourth set as it led 9-4 after a kill from Haerer.
- A 3-0 run for the Scots, capped off by a kill from Carman pushed their lead to 16-8.
- After Millsaps came back to within two points, a 5-0 run on Cali Sandhoff's service rotation put Covenant ahead 22-15.
- Back-to-back attack errors by Millsaps gave Covenant the fourth set 25-17 and the match.
GAME NOTES:
- Covenant moves to 3-2 all-time against Millsaps.
- Kalbfleisch had a game-high 16 kills and also had four service aces.
- Hannah Haerer recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 11 total blocks.
- Bartlett led the Scots with 43 assists while Jennings led the team in digs with 18.
