LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. -- The Covenant women's soccer team continued their hot streak with their 2-0 shutout win over Asbury on Saturday afternoon.
The Scots have now won four of their last five matches, with today's win marking three in a row.
Covenant got their first score in the 26th minute thanks to Rachel Wall, as she was able to deflect the ball in the goal off of a corner kick from Leah Marr. The score brings Wall's total to five goals on the season.
From there, play remained relatively even, as the Eagles totaled nine shots compared to Covenant's 10. And it looked as if it would remain 1-0 as the last minute of regulation began to roll.
But, with five seconds left to play, Kailey Burrell would break free of her defender and get one over the head of Asbury goalie, Maliya Crump, making it 2-0 and sealing the Scots' fifth shutout victory of the season.
The Scots were led by Wall and Burrell, who both tallied two shots and one goal apiece. Burrell's score was her tenth of the season, as she remains second overall in the USA South in goals.
Lucy Sandhoff played all 90 minutes in the net for Covenant, recording two saves.
The visiting Eagles were led by Delaney Long and Deidra Long, who both had three shots. Crump also played the entirety of the match and earned three saves on Covenant's five shots on goal.
The Scots improve to 6-4-1, while Asbury falls to 2-7-0.
