LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Covenant baseball team saw its four-game win streak come to a close on Tuesday with a 10-0 loss to Emory in non-conference action.

Covenant drops to 14-18 overall. Emory scored its 10 runs on 10 hits to move to 23-11 on the year. The Eagles were led by leadoff hitter Wes Peacock, who hit a pair of two-run home runs. 

Having used its three main starters over the weekend, the Scots were forced to go with a pitcher-by-committee approach in the midweek game.

Alec Mitchell (1-4) started the game on the hill for the Scots, pitching two innings and giving up one run to get the loss. Covenant used five other pitchers to finish the game, none of whom tossed more than two innings. Matthew Fultz pitched two innings of shutout ball, while Taylor Bloye, Sam Moore, Will Carlton, and Caleb Bloye also made appearances on the mound 

Emory's Jackson Weeg, on the other hand, pitched eight innings of five-hit ball. Weeg (9-1) walked two and struck out four.

Peacock went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and two runs scored, while Philip Mladari scored three times and recorded two hits. Jordan Selbach and Nick Chambers also had multi-hit games for Emory.

Scott Gillespie had two of Covenant's five hits on the evening, a pair of singles, which moves his career total to 196 and counting. Caleb Bloye had a walk and a double, while also pitching the ninth for the Scots, where he gave up one unearned run.

Covenant's next game will be on Friday at 4 p.m., when they host the beginning of a three-game series against Huntingdon.
