LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Covenant volleyball team rallied from a set down to take a one set advantage, but the Lady Scots could not hold off visiting Piedmont as the Lions took the final two sets for a 3-2 (25-22, 14-25, 19-25, 25-21, 15-13) victory on Wednesday night inside Barnes PE Center.

Covenant looked poised for its second comeback win of the year. The Lady Scots rebounded from a tough first set loss, that saw eight ties and five lead changes, with an easy second set victory followed by a third set win. Covenant scored the first 10 points of the second set and built a 12-1 lead as they cruised to the set win. The Lady Scots had a comfortable lead in the fourth set at 14-7 before Piedmont rallied. The Lions tied the score at 17 apiece and ended the game on an 8-4 scoring run to send the match into a fifth set.
Seven ties and four lead changes occurred in the fifth set, but it was Piedmont that made the final push. After Piedmont took a 12-10 lead in the set, Covenant responded with three straight kills from Ginny Moore, Maddie Wieskamp and Rogers to grab a 13-12 lead. A kill from Piedmont's Jennifer Opper followed by two Covenant errors gave the visiting Lions a five-set victory.
