LAGRANGE, Ga. -- In a tough road matchup, the Covenant women's soccer team managed a 0-0 tie with LaGrange on Saturday afternoon. Covenant and LaGrange each entered the day's contest with a pair of USA South losses.
The draw is the first of the season for the Lady Scots as they move to 5-7-1 overall and 3-2-1 in league play. LaGrange goes to 6-4-2 and 2-2-2 in USA South play.
Covenant outshot the host Panthers 14-10 on the afternoon, but LaGrange held a slight 5-4 edge in shots on goal. Rachel Bernard led Covenant with four shots attempted, two on goal, while Bethany Logan had three.
Hannah Bales made the start at goal for Covenant and made three saves in the opening period. Lucy Johnson came on for the second half and the overtime periods and tallied two saves.
Covenant will return to play on Friday when they host Methodist. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m.
