MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The wins keep piling up for the Covenant women's soccer team as they defeated GSAC rival Huntingdon College 2-0 on Saturday afternoon in Montgomery. The win for Covenant completes a season sweep over Huntingdon as the Lady Scots won 2-1 on September 15.
Senior Kathryn Allison put Covenant (11-2-1) up 1-0 in the first half when she connected on a penalty kick in the 22nd minute of play. The score was Allison's second of the season.
In the second half, Anne Charlotte Strawbridge added to the Lady Scots' advantage when she scored in the 52nd minute of action to make it 2-0. The freshman's score was her first of the season.
Covenant dominated for most of the match as they outshot the Lady Hawks 25-1, with a 12-1 edge on on-goal shots. Keeper Hannah Bales made the lone save for the Lady Scots.
Covenant returns to action on Tuesday, October 16 when they travel to Winston-Salem, N.C., to take on Salem College. Match time is set for 4:00 p.m.
