MARYVILLE, Tenn. -- Wednesday night, the women's basketball team traveled to compete against a 6-5 Maryville College team, who is now 2-0 in the GSAC. Covenant hoped to improve their own record, but now stand at 4-9 and 3-2 in GSAC play after Maryville controlled the whole game and won by a final score of 70-43.
Maryville started off with a quick five point lead in the opening minutes of the game. Thanks to a few free-throws by Morgan Woodward and Christine Core, Covenant came back and tied the score at 8-8. But Maryville then scored 13 straight points and eventually ended the first half with a seven point lead.
