LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN -- The Lady Scots had a great game on Tuesday night, playing Oglethorpe University for the third time this season. Though the games were close, they were able to emerge winning all three (25-19, 25-21, 25-21). Covenant fell behind in the second game- trailing 18-14- but came back with 6 unanswered points, allowing for another shutout against the Lady Petrels.
Jessie Jakes led the game in kills, earning 12, followed by Erica Adams with 10. Their efforts were assisted by Kristin Dahlstrand who led all players with 31 assists. The Lady Scots offense was solid, and their defense was fantastic. Almost the entire team earned at least one dig, with 3 ladies tying with 9 digs: Jessie Jakes, Estes Carlson, and Paige Cheney. This outstanding teamwork was even more effective at the net as the Lady Scots earned 16 blocks- all assisted- to stop the Lady Petrels attack in their tracks.
Covenant's record is now 7-4. They play their next 2 matches at home on Lookout Mountain against Spelman College and Wesleyan College on Saturday. Play will begin at 11:00 a.m.
