ATHENS, Tenn. -- Covenant's volleyball team opened the season by playing Tennessee Wesleyan College on Thursday night.  The Lady Scots dominated by winning all three games (25-22, 25-14, 25-16), giving Tennessee Wesleyan very little chance to do anything right.  It was a team effort, with all players earning at least one kill.

In the first game, Covenant warmed up to the court and each other, beating TN-Wesleyan 25-22.  After the ladies settled into their rhythm, they left very little hope for the host Lady Bulldogs.  Returners such as Erica Adams (10 kills), Jessie Jakes (8 kills), and Jessica Chittenden (8 kills) paved the way for the Lady Scots throughout the match.  TN-Wesleyan had very little spirit left after losing their second game to the Lady Scots.

Covenant maintained their teamwork and strength, once again emerging victorious in game three.  The Lady Scots left little room for mistake, forcing the Lady Bulldogs into 26 errors on the night while taming their attack to only 25 kills.  Covenant started the season off right, working together as a team to win outright.

The Lady Scots next game is against Oglethorpe University in Atlanta on September 3. Covenant defeated their first opponent of the year with swift decisiveness.  The rest of the season will hold some exciting things in store for a team with this much passion and teamwork.
