WALESKA, Ga. -- The Covenant Lady Scots volleyball team went on the road to Waleska, Georgia on Saturday to try and avenge an early season loss to the Reinhardt University Lady Eagles. Covenant took the Lady Eagles in five sets, but ultimately fell 3-2 (25-16, 23-25, 25-20, 22-25, 16-14). The Lady Scots lost despite outstanding performances from juniors Jessie Jakes and Emily Stewart. Jakes led Covenant (18-13) with 19 kills and 21 digs (tying a season-high in that category), while Stewart got 17 kills of her own. Kristin Dahlstrand added 45 assists, and Bailey Daffron had 15 digs.
Reinhardt (15-13) was led by Sami Lane and her 20 kills and 17 digs. Courtney Byrd led all players with 50 assists while also recording 17 digs of her own. Brandi Ward added in 29 digs for the Lady Eagles.
Covenant will stay on the road for their final regular season match of the year against Oglethorpe University on Tuesday, November 11 at 6:00pm in Atlanta, Georgia. The Lady Scots defeated the Lady Petrels 3-0 at Barnes Gymnasium earlier this year.
