Lookout Mountain, GA- After suffering two straight losses over fall break, the Lady Scots took to Scotland Yard on Saturday eager to claim victory over fellow AAC competitor Montreat College. Coming into the game, the visitors were looking to improve on a below average 1-11-1 record, while hosts Covenant were hoping to breakaway from their .500 record with a much needed conference win. And, after just ten minutes of play, junior defender Caitlin Ezell did well to get the Lady Scots on their way to victory. Taking the ball past a Montreat defender on the left side, Ezell hit a shot beyond the reach of goalkeeper Sarah McGuirt for a 1-0 Covenant lead. For the remainder of the game, Covenant continued to dominate the run of play, tallying 19 shots on the Montreat defense and allowing only 3 to be taken on themselves. Bethany Holman and Sarah Williams shared time in the goal for Covenant, and, with the help of their defense, saw little action as they earned the shutout. In their next match, the 6-5-2 Lady Scots will take to the road looking to upset the NAIA's number 6 ranked Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, TN on Tuesday.
