Chattanooga, TN – Senior point guard Liz Martin scored 28 points and handed out nine assists as the Covenant College women's basketball team beat Tennessee Temple 78-58 on Monday night. Martin scored 19 of her points in the second half, pulling away from the Lady Crusaders, after Covenant led 37-33 at halftime. The Lady Scots (9-6) also got 18 points from freshman guard Ashley Wilson, while junior forward Erika Forland had nine points and sophomore forward DeDe Walls ripped down 15 rebounds. The Lady Crusaders (12-6) were led by Elisa Hardy and Courtney Atkinson who scored 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Covenant will host Virginia Intermont on Wednesday night at 5:30 in an Appalachian Athletic Conference match-up, and then travel to Montreat College on Saturday at 5:30 in another AAC contest.
