Halftime Lead Fails to Hold Up as Scots Fall to King

Bristol, TN - The Scots held a three point lead going into halftime but it was all downhill from there as they lost by 24 to the Tornado of King College. With a final score of 68-92, Covenant, playing without senior guard Reed Crosson, was outscored by 27 in the second half before falling to 1-21 on the season.

Sophomore Davis Eldridge led the way individually for the Scots, scoring 22 points on 8-15 shooting, knocking down five three-pointers. Freshman Stephen Buchanan finished with seventeen points on a solid shooting night going 5-8 from the field, hitting his only three-point attempt and going 6-6 from the free-throw line. Sophomore Dominique McGaughhey set a season-high in assists, dishing out ten and scoring ten in 38 minutes to end up with a double-double.

King guard Kyle Savely, averaging 21 points on the season, led the Tornado with 25 points on 9-16 shooting.

Covenant is now 1-21 and they fall to 0-11 in the AAC. They will take on rival Bryan College at 7:30 PM on Saturday, January 31st where they will look to avenge a December 3rd loss to the Lions.
