Wise, VA - Senior point guard Liz Martin scored 22 points, grabbed seven rebounds, handed out four assists, and came up with three steals as the Covenant College women's basketball team defeated the University of Virginia at Wise 72-64 on Saturday afternoon in an Appalachian Athletic Conference game.

In addition to Martin, the Lady Scots (11-8, 5-3) got 18 points from freshman guard Ashley Wilson, while junior forward Erika Forland had 11 points and seven rebounds. UVA-Wise (4-13, 3-5) was led by Alexa Orr with 18 points.

Covenant College travels back to Virginia on Wednesday night for a game at  Bluefield College at 5:30, and then will host Tennessee Wesleyan College next Saturday night at 5:30.
