LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga.- The Lady Scots played a solid match Thursday night but lost for the second time in a week to visiting Trevecca Nazarene University. After getting off to a slow start and dropping the first set 25-15, the Lady Scots fought hard to come back but were ultimately defeated after a 25-21 loss in the second set and a 25-19 loss in the third and final set. Trevecca Nazarene junior Kaley Ward led the Lady Trojans with nine kills, while fellow junior Ashton O'Halloran and sophomore Brooke Cannon added six each. The Lady Scots were led by freshman Erica Adams who had nine kills to go along with eight blocks. Junior Joanna McGill had six kills, as well as fifteen assists and nine digs, while junior Anna Simonton contributed with thirteen digs.

Covenant now holds an overall record of 3-2, with both losses coming to Trevecca Nazarene. After the match, coach Heather Taylor said "We just didn't show up ready for the fight, which you have to do when you are evenly matched. I am confident that the girls can turn things around, though. They are a very strong bunch."

The Lady Scots will next be in action this Saturday, September 6, at Union College at 1:00 PM.
