Lookout Mountain, GA - In a heated battle against chief rival Bryan College this afternoon, Covenant wasn't able to take home a win. Losing their first conference match of the season, the Scots couldn't find a way to score against the visiting Lions, managing a total of eight shots over the course of the match. Bryan, scoring two goals, each during the first half, came to Scotland Yard ready to play. The first of their scores came in the 18th minute on an own goal by Covenant while the insurance goal was scored just before halftime, in the 44th minute. Despite major hustle from the players and a strong showing from the Covenant fans, the Scots dropped to 2-3-2 on the year, with a 2-1 record in the AAC. Bryan improves to 7-0-1 overall, with a 2-0 conference record. After the match, head coach John Miglarese said, "It is tough to lose to your rival on your home field. We played well in spurts tonight but conceding an own goal was really tough to overcome. It changed the momentum of the game. We had our chances to win the game, but we didn't capitalize on them. We have to move on and focus on King now. We'll bounce back from this." The Scots' next match takes place in Bristol, TN versus AAC foe King College this Saturday, September 27 at 4:30 PM.
