Georgetown, KY - Kalie Estrada pulled off some late-game heroics this afternoon by scoring the game-winning goal in the 87th minute of today's match versus the Georgetown College Lady Tigers. Estrada, coming off of a three-goal effort in Covenant's last match, was able to score again today, just before the end of regulation, sealing the win for the Lady Scots. Getting the assist on the goal was junior forward Jenny Carter. And despite offense coming at a premium today, with both teams managing a total of seventeen shots (Covenant outshot Georgetown 12-5), it was another strong defensive outing for the Lady Scots, as they have now given up just four goals in their last four games, including two shutouts.
Covenant now holds an overall record of 4-2-1, while their conference record remains at 1-0-1. The Lady Scots will next take on conference foe King College next Saturday, September 27 at 2:00 PM in Bristol, TN, beginning a stretch of five consecutive AAC match-ups.
