Senior Reed Crosson scored 28 points this afternoon, but it wasn't enough for Covenant to top the visiting Milligan College Buffaloes. Shooting 9-16 from the field, including 7-12 three-point territory, Crosson went off Saturday, but the Scots still fell by a score of 63-75. The Scots looked good early, going back and forth with Milligan and trading leads throughout the first half. However, the Buffaloes went into the half with an eight point lead and never looked back led by an unreal 31-point, fifteen rebound performance from 6'7" center Jeff Barnes.
Aside from Crosson, the Scots got double-digit scoring from just one other player. Sophomore Davis Eldridge scored twelve points on 4-9 shooting from beyond the arc. Senior Chris Hall scored eight points and grabbed three rebounds before fouling out of the contest. Sophomore Dominique McGaughhey went scoreless on the afternoon but dished out a season-high eight assists in 21 minutes.
Covenant is now a dismal 1-10 on the year and 0-4 in the conference. The Scots will travel to Richmond, KY for their next game which will be an exhibition game against Eastern Kentucky University on Tuesday, December 9th. Next Saturday they will be in Charleston, SC to take on Charleston Southern University in their last matchup before the Christmas break.
