Dayton, TN - The Scots traveled to Dayton Wednesday night to take on the rival Bryan College Lions but lost, falling to 0-3 in the AAC this year. Covenant struggled immensely from the field throughout the game, shooting just 24 percent, including 3-15 from three-point range. They also made just five of their eight free throws as Bryan was able to capitalize and run away with it early.
Despite a fourteen point performance from freshman J.R. Avery, the rest of the Scots scored a combined total of twenty points and looked out of rhythm all night. Seniors Reed Crosson and Chris Hall shot a combined 3-20 from the field and finished with a total of seven points. Freshman Matt Taylor led the Scots in rebounding, pulling down six boards while Avery was the leader on the defensive end as well, coming up with an impressive six steals.
The Scots fall to 1-9 on the year with an 0-3 record in the AAC. Their next game comes at home against Milligan College where they will look to turn their early season misfortunes around.
