Birmingham, Alabama - Facing NCAA Division I competition, the Scots gave their opponents a run for their money this evening in Birmingham. Despite a fourteen point loss, the Scots played well in a game that could have been seen as a potential blowout in favor of the Bulldogs on paper.
Three Scots ended up in double figures in scoring with freshman J.R. Avery leading the way with 21 points on 6-15 shooting in 27 minutes. The standout guard also went 7-8 from the free-throw line on the night. Senior Chris Hall scored sixteen and finished with a good overall line adding five rebounds, two steals and a block while committing no turnovers. Sophomore Davis Eldridge scored twelve, all from beyond the arc, as he finished 4-6 from three. He also grabbed five rebounds in just sixteen minutes of action.
The Scots, despite the encouraging showing, fall to 0-4 on the year. Next, they will take on the Ambassadors of Oakwood University on Saturday, November 8th at 10:00 PM in Huntsville, AL.
