Lookout Mountain, GA - Led by senior Liz Martin's season-high 26 points, the Lady Scots cruised to victory, defeating the Lady Tornado of King College by a score of 76-56. Martin had a great night from the field, going 10-16 overall and 4-7 from three-point range. She also added five assists and four steals in 37 minutes of work.
Also in double-figures in scoring for Covenant were freshman Ashley Wilson (13), sophomore DeDe Walls (10) and junior Erika Forland (10). Walls and Forland just missed double-doubles, grabbing eight and nine rebounds, respectively, and Forland was a force on the defensive end, picking up six blocks.
Covenant had arguably their best performance as a team Saturday, as the Lady Scots shot 46 percent from the field and defensively, finished with nine blocks and fifteen steals and forced King into 24 turnovers in the game.
The Lady Scots improve to 5-4 on the season and hold a 2-0 record in conference play. They are off for a while with their Thanksgiving break upcoming but will resume AAC action when they take on rival Bryan College at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, December 3rd in Dayton, TN.
