Cleveland, TN - The Lady Scots lost to a tough Lee University team this afternoon in their first road game of the year. Led by junior forward Katie Nelson's 29 points, the Lady Flames cruised to a 22-point victory. The game's final score was not simply a testament to the play of Lee, however, as the Lady Scots' shooting on the day did not help.
Covenant finished the contest at 31% from the field including 26% from three-point range. They also struggled at the free-throw line, making just eleven of their 21 attempts. Leading the Lady Scots individually was junior guard Jessica Gowan who scored 22 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Senior guard Liz Martin, who led Covenant in scoring in each of their first two games, was held to just twelve Saturday afternoon.
The loss drops the Lady Scots to 1-2 on the young season. They will return home to take on Reinhardt College on Tuesday, November 4th at 6:00 PM.
