Lookout Mountain, GA - The Lady Scots had their four-match win streak snapped this evening with a loss to the visiting Reinhardt College Lady Eagles. The two teams battled hard all night, alternating wins with each game and taking the maximum five games to decide the outcome of the match. Covenant took the first game by a score of 25-23 and then lost the second, 21-25. They then dominated the third, taking it 25-15 in the only game of match that was not closely contested. Reinhardt took the fourth 26-24 to set up the fifth and final game, which the Lady Eagles ultimately won by a score of 15-12.
Playing well for the Lady Scots was freshman Erica Adams, who had nineteen kills, freshman Emily Stewart and sophomore Shea McBee, who also reached double-digit kills. Stewart had thirteen while McBee added eleven. Junior Joanna McGill had a good all-around match with seven kills, 31 assists and fifteen digs and freshman Jessie Jakes had seven kills to go along with twelve digs.
Covenant's overall record is now even at 11-11 and they hold a 7-6 record in the AAC. The ladies will return to conference action in their next match when they host King College this Friday, September 24th at 7:00 PM.
