THE ROHN WAY

Rohn came to Covenant with a wealth of experience at the Division I level after spending the last three years as an assistant coach at Harvard. She also made a coaching stop at UL-Monroe and was a four-year player at Western Michigan.

"I am extremely excited and blessed to be the next head softball coach at Covenant College," Rohn said at the time of her hiring. "It has always been a goal of mine to lead a softball program and I am eager to get to work. I want to thank Dr. Tim Sceggel, President Dr. J. Derek Halvorson, and everyone at Covenant College for giving me this amazing opportunity."

"This position is a huge hire for us as we are committed to finding the right leader for the softball program," Sceggel said. "I have no doubt that Jenny is who the Lord has drawn here. Our department spent a significant amount of time in prayer over the hiring process, and as we conducted a national search for this Jenny's name quickly rose to the top."

Rohn took over a Covenant program that made three straight USA South Tournaments before having 2020 end abruptly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"My ultimate goals are to disciple young female student-athletes and their walk with Christ while developing a winning mentality," Rohn said about her goals for the Covenant program. "The overarching goals for the program include making an impact on and off the field while being successful in all aspects of faith, academics, softball, and the community."

Continued Rohn, "I can already tell that Covenant College is a special place and I am so blessed that God led me there. I cannot wait to get to work with Covenant softball and lead the team to success on and off the field."

PRIOR TO COVENANT

In her three seasons at Harvard under head coach Jenny Allard, Rohn helped the program to a pair of Ivy League titles and two NCAA Tournament appearances. In those years, Harvard went 30-12 against Ivy League competition and produced 15 All-Ivy honorees. Rohn also spent one season as a volunteer assistant at Harvard in 2016.

Division I has been a part of Rohn's path as a coach and a player. A standout at Western Michigan, Rohn played four years with the Broncos and had a career .324 average while starting 156 of the 197 games she played. In her senior season, Rohn finished with a .351 average, a .513 slugging percentage, and a .395 on-base percentage to help the Broncos reach the MAC Championship game and earned All-MAC second team honors.

Rohn graduated Magna Cum Laude from Western Michigan in 2015 with a degree in education. She earned MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete and Academic All-MAC honors in each of her four seasons with the Broncos.

After a year of serving as a volunteer assistant at Harvard, Rohn went back to Michigan to be the interim head coach at Birmingham Groves High School. She made an immediate impact at the school, leading the team to a district championship and earning MHSAA Division 1 District Coach of the Year in 2016.

Rohn quickly got back into the Division I ranks as she spent one season at UL-Monroe while completing her master's degree in psychology. In her season at ULM, the Warhawks secured a 32-30 record, marking the second time in program history to reach the 30-win mark.

Rohn has also served as a hitting and skills instructor at Premier Softball in Troy, Mich., and was a head coach for the Birmingham Jags 12U-16U travel team for four years.
