Hannah Talley completed her second year as the graduate assistant coach for the softball program in 2022.
A recent 2020 graduate of Covenant, Talley is grateful for the opportunity to return to her alma mater.
“I am very excited to be back on the mountain,” said Talley. “This community has had a special place in my heart for the past four years, and I am so grateful that I was given this opportunity to continue my journey in athletics with Covenant softball. It definitely will be different stepping into a coaching role, but I’m excited to tackle and learn from the challenges that it will bring.”
In her four years at Covenant, Talley majored in sport administration. She played infield and catcher for the Scots, racking up two USA South All-Sportsmanship awards. During a senior year cut short by COVID-19, she started in eight of the nine games she played. While only getting 12 games in for the 2020 season as a whole, Talley remained a constant presence of maturity and leadership on the team.
Talley looks forward to the opportunity to continue her leadership now as a coach.
“Coming back to the Covenant softball program,” continued Talley, “I really hope to express a servant leadership mentality in all aspects of the game, towards not only the coaching staff, but also the players. I look forward to expanding my knowledge of the game.”
Talley plans on pursuing a master’s degree in sport administration through Belhaven University.
